



So I acquired the Pevear/Volokhonsky translation too. I’d probably not have been too fussed about this, except that I had also bought a copy of the audiobook to do a combined read/listen, so obviously it was important to have the same translation in each. But, for reasons best known to themselves, they sent me a copy of the Max Hayward/Manya Harari translation instead. Months ago, in preparation for the Reading the Russian Revolution Challenge, I bought a copy of the Richard Pevear/Larissa Volokhonsky translation of Doctor Zhivago from Amazon.
